The Lewelling Neighborhood District Association (NDA) is an officially
recognized NDA in the City of Milwaukie.
A few of the most recent programs and events in the Lewelling Neighborhood
primarily funded by Milwaukie's Neighborhood Matching Grant Program include:
Development of a neighborhood park - Lewelling has been diligently
working on the planning and development of a neighborhood park at Stanley
and Willow. Most recently sidewalks were installed, which will allow
volunteers in the neighborhood to move forward with the master plan that has
been developed for the park.
Addition of neighborhood ID signs on street signs - The
neighborhoods worked with the city and a sign maker from the Island Station
NDA to develop and install neighborhood identification signs on street signs
that border the neighborhood. These signs are meant to instill pride in the
neighborhood and help to elevate a sense of place.
Coordination of an annual neighborhood picnic - Lewelling holds an
annual neighborhood picnic at the developing park at Stanley and Willow each
summer. All residents of the neighborhood are invited as well as city staff
and elected officials. It is a great time to meet neighbors, talk to your
city council, and meet city staff.
Bylaws: Lewelling operates under a set of bylaws that all
neighborhoods in Milwaukie must abide by. The bylaws contain information about
membership, leadership positions, voting, and other rules and regulations that
must be followed. Take a look at Lewelling's bylaws to learn more.
Meetings: Held on first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Seth
Lewelling Elementary School located at 5325 SE Logus Road.
