NPDES MS4 SWMP Documents for Public Review

The City of Milwaukie is a co-permittee on the Clackamas County Phase 1 Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) NPDES Permit. The City is required to renew their MS4 permit with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality by September 2, 2008.

As part of the MS4 permit renewal application, the City’s Stormwater Management Plan, Stormwater Monitoring Plan, and summary of Benchmarks are required to be available for 30 days for public review and comment. The Stormwater Management Plan describes the activities that the City is proposing to conduct to limit pollutants in stormwater runoff. The Stormwater Monitoring Plan describes the sampling and data collection efforts that the City is proposing to conduct to better understand sources of pollutants and characteristics of stormwater impacts to receiving water bodies. The Benchmarks estimate pollutant load reduction goals for the City’s permit area to address the applicable total maximum daily load (TMDL) requirements

Your suggestions, ideas, and comments are solicited. The public review and comment period is open from July 7th to August 6th.
