City Council Directs Staff to Tighten Vision
for South Downtown
At the March 18th Work Session City Council directed staff to enlist the help of
an urban design firm to help develop a plan for the South Downtown that
coordinates the handful of projects planned for the area and to devise a public
involvement strategy to gain people’s input and ideas.
The City’s Director of Community Development and Public Works, Kenny Asher told
Council the selected firm will be directed to develop a plan stressing
pedestrian connectivity to nearby parks and creating a southern anchor for
Downtown.
